Her Majesty Queen Mother donates a concrete-build House to a vulnerable Family in Kampong Speu Province

The elder couples and their three orphaned grandchildren living in Svay Plos village, Prey Krasaing commune, Udong district, Kampong Speu province are overjoyed after receiving a new stone-build house, a Royal gift from Her Majesty Queen Mother of the Khmer Nation NOROMDOM MONINEATH SIHANOUK, CRC Honorary President. This Royal donation was provided through Samdech Kittipritthbindit Bun Rany HunSen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross.

During the handover ceremony on Thursday afternoon, December 17, 2020, Lok Chumteav Men Neary Sopheak, First Deputy Secretary General of the Cambodian Red Cross, brought the Royal regards from Her Majesty Queen Mother and Samdech Kittipritthbandit Bun Rany HunSen to the 68-year-old Som San, who is paralyzed in one arm and one leg, his mother and three orphaned grandchildren. Also, Lok Chumteav Men Neary Sopheak brought the royal message of Her Majesty asking the people to take a good care of their health by living hygienically and drinking boiled water to stay away from other diseases; especially, following the preventive measures of Ministry of Health “Live normalization with new modality” to fight against the spread of Covid-19 in the community.

It should be noted that it took 2 months to complete a newly build-house which cost $ 5,500 (five thousand five hundred US dollars). It is 6m by 7m house with one bathroom inside.

To improve the living standard, the Cambodian Red Cross has donated 100 kg of rice, 5 boxes of instant-noodles, 50 cans of can fish, 1 kit (sarong, krama, mosquito net, blanket, T-shirt), 1 kit, shoes, clothes, drinks. 1 lot of honey, 12 bottles of fish sauce, 12 bottles of soy sauce, 2 bottles of cooking oil, 5 kilos of salt, 5 kilos of sugar, 3 mats, 3 bags, a set of dishes and a budget of 1 million riels. On the other hand, 6 elders living nearby the beneficiaries also received rice, noodles, sarong, krama, mosquito net, blanket, T-shirt and some budget.
