The CRC Future Plans 2006-2010 adopted by its Fourth General Assembly



The CRC Fourth General Assembly, 4-5 August 2006,  gave emphasis to the national society ownership, stronger capacity building for staff in project proposal writing, in reporting and in monitoring and evaluation as means for project sustainability. The recent Assembly adopted a future plan for the next four years striving to complete the implementation of the Strategy 2003-2010 whose ultimate aim is to achieve the status of a Well Functioning National Society. To ensure the success of the strategy, the established Three Year Development Plan 2005-2007 is under revision by key implementers and the .  principal core strategic objectives in the coming four years include:

 
CRC has a new governing board and a new Secretary General


The Cambodian Red Cross held its Fourth General Assembly on 4-5 August 2006, at the Chaktomuk Conference Hall in Phnom Penh. It elected new Central Committee (governing board) composing of 23 people, and Madam BUN RANY HUN SEN is re-elected President of the National Society.  H.E OUK DAMRY remains at his position as First Vice President and OD focal person for the governing board, Lok Chumteav ANNIE SOK AN ,Second Vice President,  and Lok Chumteav OUK  MALY, the Treasurer. · CRC was established in 1955.

· In 1960, CRC was admitted as a Member of the IFRC but during the Khmer Rouge Regime, it was left vacant.

· 
In 1994, CRC was reinstated to the Federation.

· The First Term was held by Princess Norodom Marie Ranariddh.

· The Second and Third Terms were held by Madam President Bun Rany Hun Sen, Current President of CRC.

· 
Her Majasty Queen Norodom Monineath Sihanouk has resided as Honorary President since 1994.

· In 2002, Two Royal Decrees were signed by His Majesty the King.

· In 2003, CRC developed a Strategy 2003 - 2010.
