Cambodian Red Cross received humanitarian Donation from BAYER ( CAMBODIA ) Co., Ltd
In the evening of 22nd October 2014, Lct. Khoun Sodary, CRC Vice-President and the high representative of Samdach kittipritthbindit Bun Rany HunSen, met with BAYER (CAMBODIA) Co., Ltd and received donation including a budget of 10,000 USD and 5,000 boxes of pharmaceutical-medical treatment at the CRC NHQ. It should be recalled that it is the second times BAYER (CAMBODIA) Co., Ltd has provided donation to CRC the first time in 2011 10,000 tablets of Puritabe donated
On the occasion of the meeting and receiving donation, Lct. Khun Sodary expressed her profound gratitude to the BAYER (CAMBODIA) Co., Ltd, for its kindly providing finance and materials as medicines to Red Cross and conveyed the regards of Samdach kittipritthbindit CRC President to BAYER (CAMBODIA) Co., Ltd and also wished the company to work well in its business.
Cambodian Red Cross received humanitarian charity from SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co.,Ltd through the National Society of China
In the evening, 07 August 2014, Samdech Kittipritthbindit Bun Rany HUNSEN, the newly elected President of the Cambodian Red Cross received courtesy call and accepted humanitarian donation from SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co.,Ltd through the National Society of China lead by Mr. Wang Rupeng, Vice-President of the National Society of China, at the Chaktomuk Conference Hall, Phnom Penh City.
First, Samdech Kittipritthbindit the President expressed her welcome and appreciation for the Chinese Delegation for their participation at the 6th General Assembly of the Cambodian Red Cross, which was a significant event. Samdech Kittiprittbindit the President also thanked for the contributed charity of 800,000 RMB from the SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co.,Ltd through the National Society of China, which considered as sincere gesture of caring and also sharing the hardships with the most vulnerable people of Cambodia.
Samdech Kittipritthbindit the President also expressed her condolences towards to the people and the government of China, due to the recent flood in China which had caused loss of hundreds of lives and as well as severe damages in term of infrastructures.
Moreover, Samdech Kittipritthbindit the President highlighted that the bond of friendships between the Cambodian Red Cross and the National Society of China as well between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Government of China have long established in the early years and have been strengthened and expanded substantially. Through this generous charity, it also reflected on high attention from the National Society of China towards the Cambodian Red Cross in which this donation was coincide amidst the current flood that have been affected by Cambodian people in almost provinces nationwide.
In response, Mr. Wang Rupeng, Vice-President of the National Society of China expressed his appreciation to Samdech Kittiprittbindit the President for sparing her valuable time to grant the Chinese Delegation for an opportunity of courtesy call. They also expressed their utmost sincere congratulations to Samdech Kittipritthbindit for the success of re-election as the President of the Cambodian Red Cross in the 6th Term of Office by receiving full confidence from members of the General Assembly. Mr. Vice-President also stressed his admiration towards to the activities of the Cambodian Red Cross and received fruitful results recognizing by the national and international opinions. He was greatly impressed the friendship and cooperation between the two National Societies in term of exchanging visits to share experiences among each other for timely and high effectiveness implementation in humanitarian activities.
Finally, Samdech Kittipritthbindit the President on behalf of affected victims and the most vulnerable throughout the country, expressed the most sincere appreciation towards the National Society of China and the Government of China for their high attention and frequent assistance in every circumstance to support humanitarian sector which was a great gesture of solidarity.

THE 6th GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF CAMBODIAN RED CROSS (Continuous)
In the afternoon of 7th August 2014, the Sixth General Assembly of the Cambodian Red Cross resumed its session at 2:00 pm, and the 6th Central Committee started its first meeting presided over by Samdech Chaovea Veang Kong Sam Ol, during which the session made the unanimous decision to adopt Samdech Kittipritthbindit Bun Rany Hun Sen as the President of the Cambodian Red Cross for the 6th term of office and selected Samdech Chaovea Veang Kong Sam Ol as a permanent Vice President, Lok Chumteav Khoun Sodary as a vice President responsible for legislature and governance, Lok Chumteav Anny Sok Ann as First Vice-President, Lok Chumteav Cheung Sopheap as Second Vice-President, Lock Chumteav Ouk Maly as Treasurer and also selected Secretary General Deputy Secretary Generals, and three outstanding members including Lock Chumteav Tao Toeun Tea Banh, Lock Chumteav Sok Keo Chan Sarun and Lock Chumteav Chea Kheng Suy Sem.
The whole General Assembly made their unanimous decision to support Her Majesty the Queen Mother of the Khmer Nation, NORODOM MONINEATH SIHANOUK to stay as the Honorary President of the Cambodian Red Cross, forever.
The closing session under the high patronage of the Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia started at 3:30 pm.
During the closing session, Samdech Kittipritthbindit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the General Assembly, wrapped up the progress and the outcomes of the General Assembly with high appreciation for active participation of the General Assembly in their deliberations with high responsibility, sharing experiences, which has made the 6th term of the General Assembly successful, fruitful and optimistic.
During the auspicious closing ceremony, the Royal Government of Cambodia gave their official recognition to the Honorary President, the Central Committee of the Cambodian Red Cross for the 5th term of office and Secondary Members freshly elected by the 6th term of General Assembly as well as outstanding members, Secretary General, Deputy Secretary General, which is a leading force of Cambodian Red Cross for the new term of office through sub-degree ……….. of 7th August 2014, signed by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia.
The General Assembly paid their attention to the key remarks delivered by Samdech Kittipritthbindit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross for the Sixth term of office, who highlighted clearly the determination of the newly elected Central Committee to pursue strengthening the CRC leadership with high responsibility, good governance, and gave her support to the executive management body and the CRC branches at all levels, and ensuring the strengthening of the CRC profile as a leading National Society in the country as well as in the movement in the field of humanitarian activities in saving lives " doing better, doing more, reaching further".
In his closing remarks, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, praised the Cambodian Red Cross for its active role in timely assisting the vulnerable people with high efficiency. In addition, he expressed his high appreciation to the Cambodian Red Cross for the combination of the authorities' roles with the CRC's, with the sole intention that we never let any people to undergo suffering without us knowing and without assistance, which fit to the CRC role as an auxiliary of the Royal Government in the field of humanitarian acts.
In the closing session, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minster of Cambodia stated the meaningful speech to highly appreciate the outcome of the Sixth term of office General Assembly of the Cambodian Red Cross during the last two days. He also highly appreciated the CRC Management at all levels, officials, staff, volunteers and CRC youth for putting their utmost efforts and making sacrifices in implementing of the strategy 2011-2020 in line with its strategy to the National plan 2011-2020. This work showed the consistency and unity between the Royal Government and Cambodian Red Cross on humanitarian activities and poverty alleviation.
Meanwhile, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia appealed to all entities, private enterprises, civil society, NGOs and relevant communities to strengthen our solidarity built in the past so that you can participate in achieving the strategic plan that has been adopted by Cambodian Red Cross. Furthermore, we must create more opportunities for each community to learn from each other about their work experience so that they can take up good points and modify them to fit their territorial priorities in reducing disasters and promoting humanitarian foundation principle and value, especially in succeeding ownership of each community.
The General Assembly was greatly honored by the presence of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minster of Cambodia, in decorating with 48 medals to the Fourth Mandate Central Committee, CRC Management, Secretariat and retired staff for their great achievements and merits in the past as having contributed in the humanitarian mission within the Cambodian Red Cross.
The General Assembly was closed at 6:00 pm on the same day.
The 6th CAMBODIAN RED CROSS GENERAL ASSEMBLY(Continuous)
In the morning of 07th August, the Sixth Cambodian Red Cross General Assembly started continuing its work at 7:30 following the planed programme and agenda. The General Assembly vigorously discussed on the two reports presented in the afternoon of 06th August as a result of providing support, agreement and adoption of the essence of two reports and is proud of Cambodian Red Cross’s achievements at the National Headquarters and branch levels with the commitment and great effort to achieve successfully in this new term of office.
The General Assembly acknowledged the great achievements made by the Cambodian Red Cross both at the National Headquarters and branches which exist from the great effort with high responsible spirit of governance body, management team, members, Red Cross Volunteers, youths at all levels through out the country. With the auspicious support from the His Majesty the King and the Queen Mother of the Khmer Nation, NORODOM MONINEAHT SIHANOUK, Honorary President of the Cambodian Red Cross, especially encouragement and support in spirit and materials from the Royal Government of Cambodia, having Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Tech HUN SEN as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and from cooperation partners both in and out country.
The General Assembly vigorously discussed on the Cambodian Red Cross’s activities which were implemented in the fifth term of offices by focusing on analyzing the strength, experiences and weakness in order to put directions for the 6th term of office and the Cambodian Red Cross Strategy 2011-2020.
The General Assembly also unanimously agreed and adopted on the financial report in the 5th term of office and budget planning for the 6th term which in the report clearly indicated about transparency and accountability of the management and utilization of funds that the National Societies received from all sources for its cross-cutting activities which is a mechanism to ensures warmest confidentiality among donors and philanthropies both in and out country.
Meanwhile, this General Assembly provided recommendations and suggestions to the Cambodian Red Cross to pay attention and push ahead with some works such as: 1). To strengthen and define clearly role of the honorary committee, branch committee and executive management body to complementary fulfill to ensure solidarity, unity and cooperation to uphold capacity and effectiveness of performances of each branch in delivering humanitarian services to vulnerable people in its respective territory; 2). To continue implementing guideline on branch development through decentralization and de-concentration which need to be done step by step based on the capacity and ability, especially human resource development and branch finance itself.
After Lok Chumteav Anny Sok Ann, Vice-President of the Cambodian Red Cross, informed to end the fifth term of office of the Central Committee, election committee for selecting the Sixth term of office of Central Committee started the election process under the attentive glance of national and international observers.
As a result of the General Assembly, the Sixth term of office of the Cambodian Red Cross General Assembly has 25 members and 3 secondary members. The Central Committee of the Cambodian Red Cross has a governance role, management and provide support and encouragement to executive management body and all levels of Cambodian Red Cross in line with the General Assembly stated directions and strategy to make the Cambodian Red Cross become the leading humanitarian organization in the country in response to the needs of the vulnerable people on time with effectiveness.
The General Assembly wrapped up its second day at 12:00.
The 6th GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE CAMBODIAN RED CROSS
In the afternoon of the 6th August 2014, at the Chaktomuk Conference Hall, the Cambodian Red Cross open its 6th General Assembly with the Royal Patronage of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath NORODOM SIHAMONI, King of Cambodia with participants from 162 official members and 418 national international guest of honor as observers. The observers are deputies prime minister, senior ministers, ministers and representatives of membership from government ministries/institution, the delegates from the ICRC and the International Federation Regional Delegations, the Cambodia based participating national societies, the National Red Cross Societies from ASEAN Countries, representatives from ethnic minorities, diplomatic mission, international and non-governmental organization, the 25 branches, members, volunteers and youth of the Cambodian Red Cross, whose presence has made the opening ceremony meaningful and solemn.
Samdech Kittipritthbindit Bun Rany HUNSEN gave her welcome remarks and extended her profound gratitude to His Majesty the King for giving the greatest honor to preside over the opening of the Sixth Cambodian Red Cross General Assembly and to national and international distinguished guests who attended the session Samdech Kittipritthbindit, delivered to His Majesty the King and the General Assembly members the summary report about the development and the key achievements that the Cambodian Red Cross has achieved during the fifth mandate concerning the four core areas which include:
- Promotion of the Movement's Fundamental Principles and Humanitarian Value
- Disaster Management
- Health Education and Health Care in the Community
- Organizational Development and Resource Development and Directions for the Sixth mandate.
Samdech Kittipritthbindit, prayed that all the triple jewels of Buddha, sacred spirits in the world, Gods looking after the white parasol, power of the former Khmer Kings and Queens give all the best wishes to His Majesty the King of Cambodia, Their Majesties the King Father and the Queen Mother of Cambodia, for their personal good health to kindly take care of their people as children, grand children and great-grand children in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
In the opening of the General Assembly, His Majesty the King of Cambodia delivered a meaningful speech that the General Assembly can use it as guidance to define the strategy and direction for the upcoming 6th mandate. In the mean time, the General Assembly has the great honor to receive the Royal message from Queen Mother of the Khmer Nation, NORODOM MONINEATH SIHANOUK, the honorary president of the Cambodian Red Cross, to congratulate the 5th Cambodian Red Cross General Assembly with great appreciation of the General Assembly process. The General Assembly expressed profound thanks to His Majesty the King and Queen Mother of the Khmer Nation, NORODOM MONINEATH SIHANOUK, the honorary president of the Cambodian Red Cross, who presented Royal donation worth 15,000 USD to the Cambodian Red Cross to support the CRC's activities. At the end of the opening ceremony, His Majesty the King of Cambodia had the pleasure to take souvenir picture with CRC members and other personalities as well as to have a look at the photo exhibition of the Cambodian Red Cross Humanitarian Services.
After that, the General Assembly started session under the Chairmanship of Samdech Kittipritthbindit Bun Rany HUNSEN with the planned program and agenda, in which three main reports were presented to the General Assembly:
- Four Year Activity Report (2010-2014) and directions for the sixth term;
- Four Year Financial Report (2010-2013) and Budget Plan for the sixth term;
The General Assembly wrapped up its first day session at 19:00 pm.
