The Cambodian Red Cross donated humanitarian fund to Kunthea Bopha Hospital
In the morning, 28th May 2014, at 09:00, Samdech Kittibritthbindith Bun Rany HUNSEN, President of the Cambodian Red Cross called for curtesy meeting and donated humanitarian fund of 1 Million US Dollars to Kunthea Bopha Hospital at the CRC’s Headquarters.
Samdech President begun by expressing warm welcome to the delegation led by H.E Morm Bunheng, Minister to the Ministry of Health and Mr. BEAT RICHNER, Founder and Director of Kunthea Bopha Foundation as well as the management team from all Kunthea Bopha’s Branches. She admired all their humanitarian work in putting all efforts and pro-active engagement from the management team and staff of the Hospital particularly in saving lives of thousands of children every year. Moreover, this is also a tremendous contribution in helping to ease the burden from the Royal Government of Cambodia and the reputation of Kunthea Bopha Hospital had been recognized nationwide.
In response, H.E. Morm Bunheng expressed his appreciation to Samdech President as the Cambodian Red Cross for this valuable donation which was a testimony of unity and the culture of sharing among each other.
Also, Mr. BEAT RICHNER was thankful for the contribution from Samdech President. Mr. Richner strongly highlighted that such humanitarian gesture was a motivation even further to the management and staff of the Hospital to perform its work in much more efficient. He informed Samdech President that recently due to the increased of sick children who came for treatment and hospitalized daily which necessarily required the Hospital and its branches to strive even harder to save and rescue children in timely manner.
Samdech President encouraged to all the management team and staff to continue these valuable works and should also have good and gentle attitude towards children and their parents which enabled motivation and comfort for them when receiving treatment from Kunthea Bopha.
Finally, Samdech President wished all the management team and staff of the hospital good health, in order to carry on their humanitarian endeavor especially in helping children throughout the country.

Cambodian Red Cross celebrated the 151st Anniversary of the World Red Cross Red Crescent Day under the theme “My Red Cross Story”
In the morning, 8 May 2014, at the CRC’s National Headquarters, there was a celebration of the 151st of the World Red Cross Red Crescent Day, 8 May, with the theme “My Red Cross Story” under the High patronage of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Kigndom of Cambodia along with the participation of top leaders of the Royal Government, the Central Committee, Volunteers, Youths, Staff-Officials of the CRC and compatroits with a total of more than five thousands participants.
During the event, according to the speeches of the ICRC and IFRC both reflected their admiration on the CRC which is the most strongest and proactive National Society in the country as well the world. The both representatives expressed their thankfullness for the support of Samdech Kittibrittbindit Bun Rany HUNSEN, President of the Cambodian Red Cross for her devotion in term of energy, time, mental and physical efforts in helping most vulnerable victims due to all kind of natural disasters with timely and effectivness manner. These contribution has been recorgnized and hearfelted gratitute by beneficeries, and victims nationally and internationally.
Moreover, the ICRC and IFRC’s representatives also impressed the CRC’s volunteers and youths nationwide and especially for those who have been performing their humanitarian actions with high responsible and were appreciated by the most vulnerable and they encouraged those to continue their valuable work for the sake of humanity.
Through speech of Samdech Kittibrittbindit Bun Rany HUNSEN, reflected her sincere gratitute for the contribution from all leaders of the Royal government, local authorities, staff-officials, volunteers and CRC’s youth mainly from from all charitable donors nationally and internationally for their support and confidence towards CRC’s humanitarian actions.
In addition, Samdech Kittibrittbindit the President, also expressed her gratitute for the active involvement of HisMajesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen Mother by providing their Royal donations including materials and funds and also during disaster occured in Cambodia. Samdech Kittibrittbindit highlighted that in 2013, CRC engaged in overcoming many hardships which caused by climate change and challenges through the implementation of projects and programs at communities as well rescueing victims by natural phonomenons and other natural disasters such as thypoons, thunderstorm, drought, flood, fire, and other disasters. The rescue from the National Headquarters, branches and sub-branches to thousands of victimed families mainly on destitute elderly, abandeded persons, widows, orphans, disabled persons, def-blind children drugged youths, and people living with HIV/AIDS with timely and high efficiently according to particular places. Moreover, in the speech also stressed that nowadays, we are focusing on pushing our CRC Youths to do multi-activities as agents for changing behavior in society for the better and to participate in peer-to-peer education at educational institutes and their workplaces in order to showcase their talent and value as a good child, good friend and good citizen for the benefit of society. At the same time, the CRC continued our focus on mobilizing youths to voluntarily get involved in humanitarian activities by ensuring sustainable progress to supporting young humanitarian candidates to take up activities in their communities to better respond to disasters, promoting education in terms of health, hygiene and establishing the culture of non-violence and peace. Samdech Kittibrittbindit expressed her optimistically believe that Samdech, Excellencies, Lok Chumteav, Lok Okhna, Ladies, Gentlemen, National-International Donors, CRC’s Volunteers and Youths, and all Compatriots will stay steadfast in your support in terms of spirit, materials and funds to the Cambodian Red Cross to continuously improve its humanitarian mission in achieving more achievements to the society and our people.
Afterwoard, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia adrressed his remarks by begining to express his admiration and thankfullness in helping to take out some responbilities from the Royao Government particularly in humanitarian sector and reducing poverty of its people. Samdech Techo also highlighted that the CRC has filfilled its duty effectivelly and timely and these had helped hardships and sufferings of vulnerable vicitms. Samdech Techo also encouraged the CRC to continously its valuable work and applealed to all local authorities and government officials to vigerously continue cooperation with the CRC aiming for able to help people everywhere by maintaining the independence in line with the fundermental principles of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement.
Finally, Samdech Techo the Prime Minister wished all national-international distinguished guests and charitable donors in all walks of life with the gem of Buddist Blessings : Logevity, Nobility, Health, and Strength.
